This walk is not currently accessible because of M42 J6 improvement work and will need to be modified when the work is complete to follow new footpaths. Evan Grant, 6 Feb 2022

From The Hampton Health and Fitness Club this walk heads broadly West towards Castle Hills and then on to Elmdon Park. We walk through Elmdon Park and take a secluded footpath alongside the Jaguar Land Rover site; at Lode Land we turn left and, after a few hundred yards, we turn left again onto the Grand Union Canal continuing down the canal until we reach The Boat at Catherine de Barnes where we leave the canal. We cross the road, head up Bickenhill Lane and then a short distance along Catherine de Barnes Lane, crossing the road just after the Dogs’ Home onto one of a number of footpaths running back to Hampton. This footpath takes us to Shadowbrook Lane just by the bridge over the Motorway; from here we walk down Shadowbrook Lane to the next footpath on the right which crosses the drive into Hampton Manor and takes us back to Hampton High Street. And then to the gym or perhaps the White Lion! The walk is an interesting mix of infrequently used paths, urban park, urban footpaths and canal towpath. Distance is in the region of 9-10 miles.
